Brian Austin Green Lands on Smallville as Metallo

Well, if Brian Austin Green can’t keep playing Derek Reese on The Sarah Connor Chronicles, at least he’s landed himself a pretty nice gig over at the CW, where TV Guide reports that BAG will be playing the Superman villain Metallo in at least the first two episodes of the show’s upcoming...

Brian Austin Green is Kyle Reese’s Brother!

I guess there’s a reason Brian Austin Green looked so comfortable fighting Terminators, right? As it turned out, and as revealed in tonight’s “Queen’s Gambit” episode, Brian Austin Green’s character, formerly known simply as The Stranger, is actually named Derek Reese. Wait, that name sure sounds familiar. That’s because Derek Reese is the younger older brother of Kyle Reese — aka John Connor’s time-traveling dad from the first “Terminator” movie, and of course, the love of Sarah Connor’s life. Coincidence?

So what do you think about the show making Green’s character Kyle Reese’s brother? Did you like the idea of another Reese running around the past? Too close to home, perhaps?

And what kind of sadomasochist is Future John Connor, that he keeps sending the Reese brothers back into the past to die? Dude, they’re your relatives!

The introduction of Derek was VERY well done and he had some great lines, especially his response to ‘Tell me something I don’t know’.

I am looking forward to the role he plays with John, and more importantly, what he can reveal about Cameron.

This show keeps getting better and better.

Derek is Kyle’s younger brother i thought he was his older brother cos he looks way too old to play a teenager.Kyle was 21 in T1 right so how old is Derek?

Just saw Brian Bloom as “Carter” in the heavy metal Episode and he was awesome. He’s got those, piercing Blue eyes, and he is one bad ass terminator. Thanks for giving the ladies something to watch. Now that the writers’ strike is over, someone pick up a pen and get his character out of that bomb shelter. Bloom is the best terminator so far.

I really like this show, keep up the good work!

Did anyone else notice the huge problem with blood-types mentioned int his episode? It mentioned that Sarah had type O blood and John had type AB. This would make it impossible for Sarah to be John’s mother. To have AB blood you have to get an A gene from one parent and a B gene from the other. For Sarah to have type O blood, she must have two O genes (O is the recessive trait). I was pretty disapointed in this, if the writers don’t understand blood types, they could at least get someone to review the script. (I leaned this over 25 years ago in middle school science class).

Otherwise, I have enjoyed the show. Who knows, maybe this was intentional and will lead to some strange twist down the road. But how come the EMT ex-husband didn’t catch the fact that something seemingly impossible is going on?

Kyle was 25 in the first movie. It says it if you listen carefully. There’s a scene where, in the background, a woman is speaking over the police radio. She says that Kyle is 25 years old. It’s quick so you might miss it.

kyle was the younger brother people…

Maybe John Connor send Derek Reese back into the past exactly because they’re relatives, he trust a lot in him, he knows Derek will do everything for stop the Judgment Day, including sacrifice his life, just like Kyle did. Sure is something hard to do, but like Sarah Connor said on Episode 1×5, for to win a war you must willing to sacrifice.

Is Derek Reese secretly a terminator (or at least part terminator)?
