EW Says Sarah Connor Chronicles is Canceled

According to Michael Ausiello over at Entertainment Weekly, two “inside sources” are telling him that Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been canceled, and all that’s left is for FOX to make it official with an announcement. Unfortunately for everyone involved (but especially the fans holding out for a third season), FOX won’t be doing any such thing until May 18, when they roll out their Fall Schedule to the press.

“It’s done,” maintains a source close to the show. “Everyone has pretty much known for a couple of weeks.” Adds a network insider: “Consider it canceled.”
The one bright spot? Despite horrific ratings, Fox isn’t ready to declare SCC dead and buried — at least not officially. “No decision has been made yet,” insists a network rep. “We will be announcing our fall schedule on May 18.”
Rough translation: It won’t be back.
So there you have it. Obviously nothing is written in stone until it’s written in stone, and it won’t be written in stone until FOX reveals its Fall lineup on May 18. But still, you should prepare yourself anyway. I can’t really tell you Ausiello’s batting average, but as long as I’ve been reading him, he’s usually right about these cancellation notices.
Yeah, it sucks if true, but I can’t say I wasn’t expecting it.

that really sucks, you could tell it was gonna happen thow, the way it ended. but still in a way it didi leave it open for a 3rd even if its just a mini series like just another 9 eps or something.

They have done three movies all about terminators coming back to kill john before the war.

My point is we never really get to see the war it self, Sure a few flashbacks.
But just wean it gets going you decide to can the series.
I love this show and if you can it i vow on everything i hold dear, To find all those responsible and do things that i cant say out of fear of the FBI tracking me down before i have a chance to do what i cant say ill do.

Well at least we had two good seasons of this great show. Salvation better be damn good!
I decided not to trust ANYBODy anymore until official FOX announcement.
And I think that should be the correct behaviour for all. I think that much of them is merely speculation, so I’ll keep my life going until 18 may. Only then, eventually, I’ll start to cry.
That is sad…just when the story was becoming more developed and interesting. I expect that it will be canceled. I have directv or did. It seems that 99 percent of the material being broadcast is either crap or has been seen so many times that one would not care to see it again. I tend to favor the science channel and other such programmers. It is hard for me to understand who or what watches that other 99 percent that in my opinion should flow directly into the toilet bowl and hence down into the sewer never to be seen again. But, of course such wretched material will be regurgitated by the sewer system to stimulate the lives of people who are stunningly typified in the movie “Idiocracy”.

this is bad news and i hope fox keeps the SCC going. a new season on the war after jd would be great, however saying that i wonder what the chances are that the scifi channel would run this show, anyway fingers crossed
and having read the book i dont hold out much for this movie, if its a 13s movie i just dont know nearly all the violence was at a distance. this is just a sh1t day
Well, if this is indeed true than FOX only cares about making money and doesn’t care at all about fans en true SF craftmanship.
This is the best show they ever had made but its target audience apparently is more interested in mindless shows where no one has to think for themselves.
A #### shame if this will be announced May the 18th.

The only reason I will watch fox now is for family guy. All the other shows suck major ass! So they “cancel” T:SCC but apparently leave Dollhouse? Explain that one to me! FOX, YOU SUCK!!!
This show is great. And the lead that they started about a machine having feelings is awsome. Also the fact that John has feelings for a machine … a lot of story here.. even thaw it is a little strange. OK … a lot, but it is a SF so why not?

This show needs to get picked up on cable, similar to the Stargate SG1. They had 9+ glorious seasons there with spinoffs.

It’s starting to sound like the same story over and over. Scifi fans just aren’t worth investing in. Some suit at a network finds a show with some real substance and cancels it, only to replace it with a reality show that sucks because it costs less to produce.
All Suits care about is numbers. “Only 2.5 million people watched the show??!!! And it has a devoted cult following? That’s not worth our time. Cancel it!!! Now I think we should do a reality show about Brittany Spears’ home movies. Yeah that’s a great idea!!!!”
I mean really! When some executive decides that changing the name of the Scifi channel to Sify is a good idea, you know that we are in deep trouble.
Come on people ! we got most of the things we wanted to see in this season, closeness between John & Cameron, a reason for the Turk to exist , the growing of John into a soldier & leader. Tension with his mother over everything that is happening around them.
It is difficult to see where the plot can go from the season finale as usual all the main charactors are dead or neutralised (as in the films) in the present day. We have a warm ending with him meeting all the charactors important to him in the future & his mother left behind( to destroy Z corp) which might explain that she IS ill and doesn’t live much longer to fit the main storyline in the films.
I have enjoyed the 2 series but, can see it’s over, the last episodes told me that ! I’m sure Fox told them to “wrap” it up a while ago.
A teaser about Dyson’s son was thrown in to show another force was at work (being Terminator protected,the real Skynet project I presume) which of course could be a new plot.

“I was at the Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank earlier today with a friend on some business unrelated to TSCC. Trust me, if it had been TSCC business, it would have been the opening line! LOL. He wanted me to help him interview a freelancing Digital FX guy for a short film he is putting together for a Youtube Short.
We were offered a tour of the studio and was asked is there anything in particular we would like to see. Of course I didn’t pass up this opportunity and said “Yeah, I would like to see the TSCC set”. He looked at me kind of funny and I almost fell over when he smiled and said “It’s all gone sweety, they tore it down a couple weeks ago, (paused a second then said) everything“
I asked “What do you mean, gone, as in Hasta-la-vista gone?” he replied in a very bad Arnold impression “they’ll not be back” He said everyone around there had known that for a few weeks already. It was fairly common knowledge at WB.”
And that is from about 3 weeks ago.

Fox has NO idea what to do with the genre shows. They prove it over and over. Firefly, Dark Angel, T:SCC and all the screwing around they’ve done with Dollhouse. You know the definition of insanity right?

If they would cancel the show, they would have announce it one second after…not one month
Tearing down the sets does not confirm that the series has been canceled. There has been a change of locations within the stories to confirm that the existing sets wouldn’t be needed anymore. 1)The Connors have moved from the home they have had for most of tseason two. 2) Zeira Corp is no longer the focus of the season. Those have been the two major sets throughout season two. Season Three will see John Connor in the future, so the rubble sets will be in use. They were only in use partly throughout the two seasons so I imagine they get broken down and set up quite regularly. Sarah Connor will be in a new setting, what it will be we don’t know. So yes the sets have been taken down. The ones no longer required get tossed, or recycled for use in other productions. I just hope FOX does the right thing by the series and the fans. I have argued before that it is a mistake on their part to keep putting it up against very popular programs on Monday and Friday nights. They should either hold the show for a mid or late season start like ABC does with “Lost,” or hold it until summer when it is up against the usual repeats.

As usual, I am apparrently in the minority when I maintain that The Sarah Connor Chronicles is one of the best shows on television. But then, I think American Idol is inane. If they are going to cancel the show, why for heaven’s sake couldn’t they end it with the resolution of the threads left untied? That’s the infuriating part! I know all good things must end, but to be left wondering what happens to Sarah, Cameron, John, and the other characters is illustrative of how little the network cares about its clientele!

but T:scc has had great character and story development from the very start and every episode was interesting
i dont like how some people say “it just started to get good” or “the development of the show just got good” because thats just being stupid.. :/
If only FOX had the vision to make a difference. TCSS is one of the best things they have done. I will guarantee you that what ever replaces TCSS will be nothing but a putride pile of vomitous crud, that in turn will be cancelled itself, and then again another program that fails, being replaced again and again. At this point I don’t plan to watch FOX anymore, my time is too valuable to let some inane morons try to decide what I like.
I would also agee along with lawrence and lang that the TSCC has been very good from the very start. It put the hook in me from the first episode. Occasionally along the way some episodes stood out with elements that were brilliant. I couldn’t help but wonder if those people who wrote and created those episode knew just how great they were. It is a sad day when something this good is cut short before reaching it’s full potential.
Now that they are canceling all my favorite shoes, i’m ending my cable and getting rid of the TV, I won’t give them any more ratings and suggest everyone do this as a form of protest. Remember viewers can impact the decisions, just stop watching TV, see how long they can last without us.

TSCC has become what I expected from Heroes, but roles have reversed, Heroes has run out of ideas, the plot holes and poor acting have ruined the show whilst TSCC has slowly developed a very qualitative intense storyline and plot.
However Heroes gets another season at least and the TSCC are terminated.
On the subject of Heroes I hope that the writers and directors watched the final episode of TSCC and took notes.
Now can we fans get together to get this show back?
My opinion, I have to admit, Terminator the Sarah connor Chronicles is far away better then Heroes, I prefer Terminator keep going, first, I’m a fan of the franchising, second: Lenna Hedley is so much beatfull of the others girls in Heroes, that they should die of Jealous.
But the problem is that the writers of Terminator had bad trip, they should concentrate in good history, and not in Future Paradox. And Believe, the third season will come, and who knows a fourty, wait and see, Greedy has no Bounds…
I hope the show is brought back as well, because I really enjoyed the last few episodes of the season. However, the time spent on Jesse and Riley was just a terrible waste of time. If the show is canceled they can blame on the middle portions of season 2 dealing with that nonsense that went nowhere. I was happy to see things turn around, but I hope it’s not too late.
EW only says bulls**ts! TSCC is the best series from the X-Files.
The success of the TSCC radicates in the cast, crew and some cliffhangers episodes, if we want a season 3, the advise to the crew could be this: find some writers who digged more on the Terminator world, and build a more consistent story line, more closer to the movie’s storyline.
if fox blames to the low ratings on season 2, and limitate it only for the american audience, maybe they’re right. but there is always a chance to improve it. not cancel the TSCC. there is more than a million of reasons AROUND THE WORLD, (and I mean a fan=a reason) to keep going.

This is good news. The show was terrible.
The TSCC was the best show on T. V. and I looked forward to it each week. The reality shows are mostly stupid and a complete waste of my time. If TSCC is canceled I will be bitter towards FOX and avoid their shows in the future. FOX needs to rethink this decision.

Yes, the BEST show on television! Bit of a drop mid season 2 with the Jessie/Reilly story but some excellent plot developments! Please Fox, give us a couple more seasons!

This show is awesome. It has great messages, story line, action. It must go on. I have got my friends and family into it and they all want MORE. TSCC is honestly the only show that i would go out of my way to weekly set time aside to watch. It is an excellent production. KEEP IT GOING FOX!!!
What a complete waste if they cancel now. I love this show, initially when I found out about the Terminator series I was skeptical how it could work. But the show exceeded all my expectations. The cast is great. I love how they got through time to the present and how the have flash forward/backs to the Future. Was gutted to see Brian Austin Green go but I still think that if they are going to end it, one final season with a proper conclusion is owed to fans of the show. I am fed up of investing my time in a show, getting to really like it only to have it cancelled after 1 or 2 seasons.(ie Jericho, Men in trees, Kidnapped, Traveller, Smith) with no plot conclusion. The networks need to give these shows more of a chance.
why would anyone even think of getting rid of TSCC. I myself watch and wait every week just for TSCC its the highlight of my week no other show has ever made my this committed for anything. TSCC is the only tv show that i watch, if it gets cancelled i will most likely not watch tv at all given the fact that everything else on tv is purely useless, full of so called reality and a bunch of mind numbing tv. fans from canada to brazil to uk all love TSCC, I LOVE TSCC. I’m a UK fan and i’m HOOKED!!! To announce a cancellation would be a blasphemy to the Terminator Universe. Reading all the above comments there are more people in favour of bringing a 3rd season on air than those against! If Fox cancels then they are dumbass profit crazed freakazoids!!! T:SCC is a hit in the UK, one of the best US exports for some time.
They have to do a 3rd season to somehow link it into Salvation… Otherwise like the 3rd film the entire timeline will yet again be screwed up lke in this seasons finale… which RULED!!!
I think the series is so much more sincerelly in the Franchising than the movie, I want more Terminator of course, but with the direction McG is getting i would prefer that should be cancealed, we can’t afford it the complete destruction of the franchising, I support the series, but for me is Impossible to support McG decisions around the course things are taking.
I’m fan of Terminator and not Transformers or Charlie Angels, Don’t give credit for Michael Bay, PAul W. Anderson, and this McG anymore, they are mercenaries, they don’t give a damm for us true fans. Oh my, I’ve watched the first Terminator in 1984, do you guys knows who Dick Miller is?
