So, Sunday has brought some rather bad news for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. According to two sources, the show has been “officially” canceled by FOX. Worst, according to TVbythenumbers.com, Warner Bros. (who owns the show) isn’t even bothering to shop the show around to other potential networks, which would seem to indicate they’ve given up on it.
Not to be outdone, Michael Ausiello over at Entertainment Weekly, who has been predicting the show’s death for months now, added this on Sunday:
Fox: Sarah Connor Chronicles has been officially canceled.
But like I said, Ausiello has been saying that for a while now, so…
Coming on the heels of surprising news that FOX has renewed Joss Whedon’s equally low-rated Dollhouse, I’m sure many of us thought the network might make the same deal for TSCC. That’s apparently not the case.
What we do know is that FOX will be doing its network upfront presentation later today, Monday, which is when it will announce its entire schedule, and we’ll know FOR SURE if the show has been canceled or not.
Update: Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood Daily has also reported that TSCC has been officially canceled. I’m still waiting for one of the big trades to confirm this…
CONFIRMED: Variety has released Fox’s full schedule, and The Sarah Connor Chronicles is nowhere on it. This is the official confirmation we’ve been dreading, folks. TSCC is dead. Fox has canceled it.
Update: FOX prez Kevin Reilly tells TVGuide that even if “Terminator Salvation” does well at the box office later this week, it won’t matter. They’ve decided to cancel the show, and they aren’t changing their minds. And this, after the creators of the show did everything Reilly told them, including adding a ridiculous love interest for John named, of course, Reilly. What a buffoon.
That’s a bit foolish if they aren’t even shopping it around. It’s a show that could find a HUGE resurgence on Sci-Fi.

yeah i totally agree they should give up on it so quick its a great show. but FOX for you they quick to cancel a show with give it time to find audience to appreciate it!! it soooo sad ;(

Well, SciFi (or SyFy, as they now want to be called) expressed interest in picking it up, and they even talked about it in a meeting, but they concluded that the budget for the show would have to be way too high to keep the show at the same quality as the previous seasons (especially because season 3 would take place in the future). Also, there may be even less fans, seeing as how Cameron died in the season 2 finale. A lot of people just watched the show for her. Sure, Allison is alive, but it just wouldn’t be the same.
I would kill for a third season though.
I think WB got what it wanted out of the show a 31 episode advert for T4.
I’ll wait for official confirmation but I knew for ages Fox won’t it doesn’t surprise me one bit. I suspect WB feels we are too thick too cope with two alternative terminator timelines so they’ve give up on the fans that supported the show for the last two years.
Lets hope T4 isn’t rubbish. But the fact theres no reviews for it seems like a bad indiction what this movie will be like.

I don’t even know what to feel right now, if these sources are accurate. I’m beyond disappointed, I’m actually extremely sad, and I feel that there is no longer any hope for FOX on the intelligence level. I bet they’re blaming Dollhouse’s poor results as a first season on SCC preceeding it - I hope they find out it’s the other way around. I’m sorry to all Dollhouse fans out there, I don’t want to be bitter and wish for their show to be killed, but I’d still advice to expect the worst, considering how this network seems to react with Sci-Fi shows. And I suppose, after seeing what happened to other shows that were so amazing, this shouldn’t come as a blow. But SCC was the only show I even watched on TV - and now I no longer find any interest of watching any FOX shows at all. I suppose one less viewer won’t break their heart, but I hardly care of the result of my actions as long as its meaning has a sense to me.
I’m also extremely upset at Warner Bros for not even trying to sell out the show to other networks. Have they learnt nothing? No, Science Fiction shows don’t bring a lot of ratings and viewers. But the fans are loyal, and they are addicts - they will buy almost every single product and merchandise that comes out from it, whereas other popular shows like Friends don’t get that kind of results - where is the need when they show re-runs every day of the week? And like mentioned, why not try to sell it on the Sci-Fi channel? I definitely agree with you Craig - TV is dead.

“Just got an email from a source at FOX saying (unconfirmed) #TSCC for 13 episodes on Fridays in the fall, then Human Target in the spring.”
Obviously, the source is just as credible as the others, so I dunno what to say. Hope it’s true. Either way, today is the day we find out for sure.
I think this is not over yet, If Salvation will be a huge success i think the show will return somewhere …

We won’t know the truth until FOX makes their announcement today. But based on this news, if true, then FOX and WB have made one of the biggest blunders ever.
The film could help draw more viewers to the show with a clever ad campaign.
Canceling this show is such a blunder. I hope the news report is based on unfounded rumor.
Why? The show really was some Buffy the Vampire Layer version of Terminator. You know that at a certain point John will end up doing it with that Cameron terminator and we would probably see a spin off show in which Cameron goes to New York or something to fight Terminators over there.
Thank god they end it before it could turn to that. Too bad they didn’t end it soon enough, my mental picture of Shirley Manson and Garbage is forever ruined due to her being turned into a minging Scottish chick version of Robert Patrick…

This show has a ton of potential with the third season. Yes, season 2 was a bit disappointing in a few episodes but season 3 is where it will pick up with everything. This is a bad move if they cancel it and/or don’t shop it around… it’s like Firefly all over again.

How the hell can they renewed dollhouse; i tried to like that show and watched almost every episode and fell asleep nearly every dam time. I don’t know what fox was thinking, that show is garbage; there will never be a season 3 of ‘dullhouse’; what a waste of time. How can they not even shop the show around? The fight is anything but over, we all must a work hard to let these companies know people care- write to other networks (scifi?) tell them how bad we want this show.
BTW a straight to dvd movie will never happen only because it will confuse too many nonhardcore fans.

This show has provided some of the best character driven drama. For once we get to see the characters beyond the old run, chase, shoot at each other and win by slimmest of margins as seen in the films. You missed the boat malika.
Though not all stories were great, the characters in them are just so compelling that I wanted to see it again. This series has more potential than the films. Sure the films can offer huge, spectacular, special effects and thats great, but the TV series gives us chance to know the characters. The actors in this series have been marvelous. They have taken the words off the pages and made the characters ‘real.’
I promised I wouldn’t go into another rant., but my god where do all these idiots come from. There must be some special rock out there somewhere that all these idiots live under and breed more idiots.
One more thing; fox is not so bad with sci-fi shows; fringe is a great example.
Iwatched the first few episodes and did not like it, but somewhere around episode 14 it really picked up and i have to admit the show is amazing. If you have not seen it ((or only saw the first few episodes and quit) go to hulu right now and watch the last few episodes of the season.
Had fox killed it midseason before it found it grove it never would have gotten another season which looks great.
IMHO if terminator was put on the same night as 24 (or idol like fringe) as it was originally planned to be we would never be having this conversation at all.

Well like dollhouse but it cant touch Terminator. I mean they put it on Friday. First of all most people dont watch tv ne more. They just download. I am so disgusted with FOX. I can’t believe Dollhouse got renewed and TSCC didn’t. The only reason I watched Dollhouse at all was because it came on after Terminator. There has been no reason to watch it after TSCC had its season finale.
FOX, you’ve done it again. Killed a welcomed fan favorite series. This time on the eve of the fourth in a line of Terminator films you could have taken advantage of in advertising the TV series. Just my opinion, but I think there will be a direct to DVD, only because it will make a lot of money. Consider all the sequels to “Starship Troopers” or “Species” or “War of the Worlds” that went straight to DVD, and you see what I mean. The fact is, if someone can get the rights, they will make it, with or without the original actors — and that is my real fear — that someone will make a 2 hour follow up to the end of Season 2, straight to DVD, with a couple of no-name actors and special effects right out of a 1960’s Roger Corman post nuclear epic. I pray that Warner Brothers approaches Sci Fi about doing T:SCC the way they did the BSG miniseries. T:SCC so deserves to be the new centerpiece of Sci-Friday.
I am at a loss for word. Don’t know if it’s the right thing to say or not but it alsmost feels like a death in the family, to me anyway. I mean you watch a show and you grow to know and love these characters, just enough in time for something like this to happen. When I first read the news I literally almost stared to cry, because it was my favorite show before “Rescue Me” I never missed a show followed it, followed the stars of it, and it is just heartbreaking to me. My only beef with this whole thing is that they cancel T:SCC which had a major following but insted leave Dollhouse which I’m sure also has a big following but was scoring lower rating points that chronicles where. For me it just doesn’t make sense?
Also, why wouldn’t wb or the creaters try and find another network for instance say FX and especially sci-fi which would probably bring in more viewers? And you also have the Terminator Salvation movie coming out, why not keep chronicles on after the movie to try and generate more people’s interest? All I can say is that I hope if there is some possible way to bring it back (dvd, other network) or whatever so that the TRUE and LOYAL fans of the series can keep watching. If accepted by say “SCI-Fi” Network, then there is a possibility that WB could re-announce a come-back of the series just in the nick-of-time before Fall, and if not by Fall, then theres always later seasons. Keep the faith everyone, I’m sure that we have not seen the total end of this show! Especially one as great in standing with viewers as this one is. We have all seen other series disappear only to return on another station in time. I just hope that they dont do what they did…they being (FOX) to the hit series I fell in love with, The Shield! I really miss that show also, it was such a drag it was cancelled. You know i wouldn’t of been mad about this if i I didn’t see the last episode. That peaked my interest but the writing was on the wall way before this. T.V is big business they don’t see a good story, they see that bottom line . W.B should shop it to cable tho. It would probably work better
TSCC has it’s loyal fan base for that there is no question , though outside of that what chance is there of the average american actually tuning in to watch the show ?. People do not like using their brains to think nowadays and in TSCC you have to understand the whole terminator universe to kind of get into it or to really enjoy it . Average people these days like watching reality shows etc because its easy to watch , you don’t have to think and you can have a laugh . Television as a whole is used as a tool to promote a lack of brain activity , it has been proven statistically , why ? because the way the world system is used globally is to use the millions of the poor majority to work hard for minimum wage and to not know about it to fuel the greed of the elite minority. Stemming our thoughts by providing us with brain dead shows on television is one of the basic ways the system manipulates us into losing our train of thought , which makes it easier to use and abuse us as we do not know what is really going on . Do you really think fox or warner bros cares about an ultra loyal fan base pertaining to TSCC ?? no they do not , they just want the numbers . Why ? because the higher the numbers the more fox gets paid or can charge the companies wishing to advertise their products during the course of it’s broadcasting . If it’s only us ( the loyal fan base ) tuning in … well i suppose we were lucky to even receive a second season , coupled by the fact that TSCC is not the cheapest show to produce . In reality once you put everything together , TSCC never stood a chance of becoming a mainstay to the broadcasting line up bar a miracle .
man this sucks its a awesome series too, but it honestly would surprise me, there may have been other facotrs that led to its cancellation, hell according to my brother terminator:SCC was almost cancelled before the season even finished… it wasnt until wb lowered the fees that fox agreed to continue showing it.
hell chuck from nbc was almost canned but it has finally been renewed but season 3 will only be 13 episodes and some writing staff has been let go, and even one of the parts.. so it wont be the same for season 3 as far chuck is concerned
I would be happy if we could get 6-8 solid episodes to finish the story. This was the first finale that had me sitting on the edge of my seat to see what happens
well that leaves the number of shows i watch of fox at a whopping 2 now (24 and family guy) never understand the point of cancelling a show with (albeit low) ratings for shows that are guranteed failures. do you really think dollhouse is going to staple show for years to come? or these abysmal comedies they’re putting in?

Antonio, sorry to disagree with you, but it is my opinion that you are incorrect in thinking that the majority of people who watch tv dont want to have to think! Take for example, House, or Bones, or Grey Anatomy…ok ok …maybe not Greys Anatomy, but still, there are shows out there that are much more difficult to follow then SCC! As for the numbers game, I 100% agree with you, if the numbers arent there Numbers meaning ($$) then yeah tv does become very greedy and doesnt care what the public feel! Fox like others deal on the basis of how much revunue they make by people watching the commericals not the show itself! So if you watched the whole season on say HULU or FOX ON DEMAND or DVR you basically helped to drop the ratings of the show! This is FACT right from both Josh Friedman (Producer of TSCC) and FOX affiliates themselves! I will once again help anyone who has any questions!

Season 1 never had a finale, it was cut off short due to the writers-strike! This is also why it is so horrible why TSCC got cancelled, it is like a slap in the face of everyone involved with the show and fans like us by saying, yeah we gave you your chance at a finale, now go away! nothing is against Summer Glau, take my word for it, I know it to not be that as a FACT!!! Its FOX’s dealings with what i wrote earlier dealing with money and commercials! Thats the only sad truth to the entire reason the show got cancelled! nothing more, or less! I heard it from the horses mouth so to speak of! I am also very upset as you are, yet it was never in any of our controls other than we should have watched more commercials, or left the station on and went to make popcorn or get soda then come back when its on! lol

Same here! There is talk of filming a season 3 and making it into a DVD series movie! With the original cast, atleast thats a rumor i am yet to confirm, but it gives a ray of hope! even if its just aliitle bit! It just wouldn’t be aired on TV!! ;( I will let you and everyone know more when i find out!

There have been some unconfirmed reports that perhaps SCI-Fi is in the works with WB however, I wouldnt hold my breath, You know how rumors are! Hopefully though there will be some information reguarding that and others! I will as before stated keep everyone updated! Just keep an eye out for me!

I am devastated by the cancellation of TSCC! I just watched the new movie and loved it! How terrible to be left hanging after such a great season finale. Why not at least show some respect to your viewers Fox and shop out the program to another network that so many of us have come to love. Or at least try and we will know you gave it an honest to goodness try. But still “Dollhouse”? I dont even know how you justify that show over TSCC?
When discussing the cancellation of TSCC, Kevin Reilly stated that a reason he canceled TSCC and not Dollhouse was because he did not want to receive 110,000,000 hate e-mails for Joss Whedon fans. Lets give him 110,000,000 e-mails for TSCC!
Write in the title of your e-mail “110,000,000 e-mails for TSCC”, leaving the text area blank. If we all send it in the same format, it will show him we’re a united effort against the FOX exec’s poor choice in cancelling TSCC. I hate these big big brass network types they don’t care about what the people think they should not leave it on a cliffhanger at least do what they done to alien nation and make a movie from the show at least give the show a real closure.
Gee, thanks Kevin Reilly for screwing up Season 2 with that stupid idea that John needs a girlfriend. Then when the producers get it worked around and gives a d@mn good conclusion to that whole unnecessary screwing around with the production, you up pull the rug out from under them.

I agree 100%. I have an awful feeling that T4 will be the same as T3. No storyline but lots of SFX. The spoliers look like something from Nintendo or Gameboy. This better be the box office buster of all time. If it bombs, it could seal the fate of any future Terminator movie.

There seems to be more reviewers against the film than for it.
Really disappointing as a mediocre + worse rated show like Dollhouse gets renewed (no way it will last a full second season) but Fox have little faith in the TSCC show with a big movie also on the horizon.
I only hope the shows makers leak the story line for what would have been the next season as the cliffhanger was so huge that they cant leave us in the dark.

From what Josh says, it was WB that did the dirty, not just Fox. With T4 due out, its too much of a coincidence.
The first time my heart broke over a cancellation of tv series was with Roswell. Then Angel, then Firefly, then Dresden Files, then New Amsterdam. This is the biggest blow so far.
I am from Brunei, a very tiny country in southeast Asia. Ask anyone here if they know The Terminator. Yes they do. My husband has an action figure of Arnold S as The Terminator. We searched most of Singapore’s toy and games shops for that and more..
Fox and company do not realise that the Terminator characters are like a national treasure for America because these characters are admired even in this tiny corner of the world. I am amazed at the lack of respect Fox and co. have shown at the genius of this story. I am puzzled why they would not be proud of good intelligent shows that come out of America. That Americans produce.
But now we know that at JD, we will not be bombed to extinction by machines. Instead we will be dumbed to death by inane shows on tv.

All the hopes and dreams for a third season died.
I keep coming back to this site. I just can’t believe what FOX did. It’s like hearing the news a loved one has died. There is anger, and grief, and denial.
I’ll keep it alive. These characters felt like members of my family (a bit overstated but some of you know what I mean) and their absence will leave a hole that can’t be filled. I’ll rewatch the episodes I recorded and I will write my story. I will give them the ending they deserved. And if I can figure out how to post it, I’ll share it with you all.

Besides it will clash with T5 which will be set in the present day, although the new Terminator films being so good it will most likely mean Fox will bring TSCC back.
I agree with you all, but I have to advise you, all the Hype for Terminator around the World is because of JAmes CAmeron and Stan Wiston, I love the series also, The series is a whole media, a new franchising, and I love it also, the thing is, the creator of all, the real responsible for all, isn’t togheter with all, he could be a consultant, but no, the producers don’t want, because he demands quality, they prefer guys like McG, wich walks by automatic pilot, just like the Terminators, but even the T-800 has more sense of humor then McG.
I’m looking for the premiere partys in Los Angeles, and guess what, everybody is there, the only person that is not there, guess who? JAmes CAmeron, I’m sure this don’t tell anything for you, you already excepted the missing of the Plasma Guns, accepeted the Hunter Killers by day (With the InfroRead and all), accepeted the “TRansformers Optimus Decepticon HArvester”, the Moto-Terminators? The series is real cool, you can see Derek Reese with the Plasma Guns at the Future, that was the future stablished, but McG, he is working outside even of the series, creating all new plots and all, he don’t deserve my credit, Death to him, and long life to the Fox series, much more sincere…
If FOX had the intention of bringing the show back if the films did well, they wouldn’t have cancelled it in the first place.
Our only hope is that it gets picked up by another network. Which I doubt because the word is WB isn’t even trying to shop it around to other networks.
The show is dead and right now a lot of us are mad. The show was treated terribly by FOX. First they put it up against ABC’s huge success “Dancing with the Stars” on Monday nights and TSCC’s ratings aren’t good, then they move to Friday Nights up against CBS’s huge success “Ghost Whisperer” and TSCC’s ratings aren’t any better. Yet they act surprised that it didn’t do well and cancel it. CRAP! they bloody well knew it wouldn’t do well against those shows. They just wanted an excuse not to renew it for a third season.
FOX crippled it then killed it. It never garnered more than a hardcore fan base because they never put it in a time slot so it could get a larger audience. I think WB would be smart and produce the show for syndication rather than for a specific network. Then there might be a chance for it being picked up by many local stations wishing to fill time slots and the show could grow a larger audience then.
I’m out of ammunition, Heroes were so bad, always good seasons for it, or special chapters, mobisodes and all.
Same thing for LOST, nobody, even the actors can handle with the nonsenses of that Isaland, and the best of then all is at second hand, unbelievablem Comon Fox, some episodes were bad, but the whole thing is cool, we want more Sarah connor, please we deserve it.
Fox does it again. Maybe some day there will be some management there that has some idea of what it takes to be a winner.

True. But there is nothing too stop another network enquiring about taking it up is there? The more I think about it the more certain I am it was because TSCC was taking attention away from these potentail disasters in T4 and 5. TSCC had better writers and a better storyline, than what we know of T4. If you like booms bangs and lots of explosions, then T4 will send you into transports of joy by all accounts.
Jimm sayed all, The Sarah Connor is so much better than the movies yet to come, Fox should consider this, they are diferetn medias at all, and Sarah Connor Chronicls is so much focused in the Human Element,l T4 it’s not a pramether, T4 is Charlei Angels, and not Terminator, Sarah Connor is The TErminator.
TSCC was one of the few shows I made sure I saw each week. It was THE Fox show I watched. AFAIAC Fox has driven itself into the ground, and this is part of the wreckage. I’m sorry this great show was taken down with it. If only it had been run on a good network.
One thing I will never forget: Shirley Manson on TSCC. What an incredibly inspired casting. Love her. Love Thomas Dekker too. May the entire cast, crew, writers and producers go on to further great work. Thank you. Brilliant work all! Fuk Fux.
I just loved this show. The show was great, but it wasn’t like FOX was trying to make it so. It would be nice if a dvd series, another network picked it up or something just to finish it off and say thanks for watching.
This is the only show I watched on television. I became disenchanted with television after the strike and had hope once I saw TSCC. The writing and storylines were great and the cast was a stellar group of individuals who brought all of their talent to the table time and time again and never failed to surprise the viewers. The Bionic Woman was never given a chance and died a quick death. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was by far superior overall and even with a change from Mondays to Fridays we followed it. I am now just buying television shows on DVD which I know have a beginning and an end. The storyline had built up an arc and Fox needs to let that get resolved. Be it a three episode stint or something to let us get closure. The WB station is gone so more stunts like this from FOX will see their station RIP eventually too.
I can’t believe howe choked I am the show is cancelled. It’s the first TV series I’ve watched since the X-files. I hope there is a resurrection in place some where….

I am so disappointed this show got canceled. It was one of the few shows I follow regularly and only one of the two shows I watch on Fox. I may just give up on Dollhouse too. Now I feel like going on a Bale rant at Fox. Seriously, you and me are done Fox!
If there’s any chance you all can make a DTV or mini-series, I hope you all will try to wrap up the story. I’d be willing to give money to that cause and buy the discs when they come out.

For companies like WB money is important, and if someone is willing to pay, they will be more then happy to sell it, in my opinion.

I for one loved The Sarah Conner Chronicles. I also do not watch TV on Fridays - I do not know many people who do. I teach a karate class while Dollhouse and TSCC is on, so I had to DVR it. I have to say this has been the best pairing of shows since they had bones and House on the same night.
I have already purchased Season 1 and preordered Season 2 of TSCC and I am really upset that it is not getting picked up for a third season. This is the only show I could get my teenage son to sit down and watch with me - it was our mother/son thing and now it is gone.
The cast was strong and had great onscreen chemistry. I want it back. Someone needs to take a strong look and consider getting this show back on somewhere. I am willing to stop watching all my other shows on fox including House, Bones, Idol and Dollhouse, because I think it is a very poor decision to cancel such a quality show.
I am a British viewer. I am also hugely disappointed that this series has been axed.
I have never seen, nor heard, of “Dollhouse”. It hasn’t made its way across the pond, so it can’t be all that good!
Whatever the reasons are for giving this show the boot, i hope that FOX reconsiders. It would be wrong of them not to allow the story to continue, or at least to conclude, considering the massive fanbase that the franchise has.

As Fox have decide too dump the show (Coincidental with the release by the by all accounts awful Terminator4) I, and belive me many many others around the Globe are wondering if Virgin will step in and continue the series? A TV show that has built up a viewing audience and fan base Globaly in less than 2 years cannot be ignored.
I have read both Warner Bros and Foxe’s reasons for the shows cancellation, and frankly, I do not accept them.
If Virgin, perhaps working with another Network could obtain the rights for the show, there is no doubt it will continue to be a success.
If however this is not possible, thanks for letting us see a Since Fiction show that beats all the others hands down.

I have yet to see T4 which doesn’t hit the uk til the 4th of june but what I hear is it ain’t good. Although since T5 won’t be preoduced by WB and instead MGM we might see some sort of renewal or conclusion.

like the majority of the people in this forum i am proper gutted about no season 3 . i am from the uk and watched this on virgin . i dont know how the business works with selling the show on to other tv companies but surely they dont take veiwing figures into account based just on american audiences to justify cancelling a show . from what ive read through other forums and everywhere else there is a massive following for this show across the world ,now i know the majority of this maybe by download but surely fox could of got deals with them like virgin in the uk and then took a total world wide audience figure into account before finishing it. its all about the tv revenue in america i know but this was the best series for a hell of a lot of time . prison breaks been blowing out its arse for the last couple of seasons and finally ran out and i love 24 so much but that too is going the same way . tssc was different and i enjoyed that aspect of it . virgin save the day this could make richard branson the tv king he wants to be and keep us all happy
Moving this how to friday was a terrible move by FOX. I mean who’s home on friday night? Summer is the hands-down hottest lady on TV on one of the, if not THE, best show on the mess that is television today. I agree with other SCI FI could give this show the move it needs!

I think WB are more too blame that Fox. T4 must have cos millions to make. And i believe ran way way over budget. What they did not allow for, was TSCC being a Global success. So they juggled the money numbers.

My heart is BROKEN! This show was high-quality. The season finally left me, literally, drooling! I was pissed that I’d have to wait the summer to see what would happen with father Conner, brother/uncle Conner (Brian Austin Green), Sara stuck in the past/present, the crazy bad-ass red head, and, of course, JOHN!!! Now I’ll never know? It’s an injustice!

This really sucks if the cancel TSCC, I am from Asia and a lot of us over here love this movie. We get it on our local tv network weekly. Common, WB, alot of us here grew up watching your movies as we grew up, have a heart.
They have’nt even shown season 2 over here in Australia yet (at least not on free-to-air Tv), but I’ve recorded the first season and seen the second off the net, and it’s by far my favorite show, and now it’s dead!!

If we are very, VERY lucky we might get a Straight to DVD-Movie but I doubt it.

Once again Fox screws it up. They played games with time slots, then cancel the show. It was one of the best reasons to turn on my tv. Instead Fox offers up a dopey show about a glee club. uh-huh. I’ll be watching something else. Warner Bros could shop the show and make some money. What in the heck is wrong with these folks? I guess they’re not in touch with the audience they claim to appeal to. A show that is clever, provides food for thought, and is just plain fun has no place, apparently in the Fox/Warner schedule. Perhaps someone will pursue the series despite the laziness and disinterest by Fox and Warner.
BTW, I tried to email Fox to support the series, and there’s no way I could find to do that. I get a form letter saying they don’t read their mail because they get so much of it. So why even have a mailbox? ABC does the same thing. So they shut out their audience and operate in a vacuum. No wonder they don’t know what’s going on.
Save this film please, everybody who has seen it will want to see it more and more. Please, do not dimiss it, anytime.

Well, this news just proves once again how high quality production and intelligent stories are what Hollywood wants any more, they want cheap and they want spoon-fed ignorance. (Read: reality tv).
Why should anybody care to write anything intelligent or credible any more? Production Studios like WB doesn’t care. They want a fast turn on a buck. Dollhouse got saved because it costs a fraction per episode of what TSCC costs per episode. Despite the fact that TSCC is a great series, the ROI on that show is far smaller than Dollhouse. I don’t even know what basis the ratings have any more… except to gauge how much to charge for advertising - which is also a joke because most people Tivo or pay for the shows on iTunes.
Shameful. Unfortunate. Another reason why the independents are gaining the upper-hand over the studios… but as long as the FCC allows the studios to monopolize and own the networks, guess what, we’re like herded cattle lining up to watch what they want to show us.

I’m an American. I love TSCC. I am completely amazed at how many fans there are for this series outside of America. It makes me so happy this show has found such an appreciative fan-base around the globe. I wish FOX had took that into consideration before making their decision. They never gave the show a chance. If they had they wouldn’t have put it up against such strong opposition in the US on Monday and Friday nights. I wish I knew the ratings of this show comparing domestic ratings to ratings in other countries. It would be nice to know how strong it did against other programs in other countries.

In the UK, it had steady ratings on Virgin, on the run in to the final episodes it really climbed. I wrote (not an email) to Virgin’s head of Programming asking if Virgin were going to get WB to make a season 3. Maybe I’ll get a reply.

I am so mad at FOX and Warner Bros for not supporting what has been the best show on the FOX network. FOX is definitely on my do not watch list. …And it doesn’t matter that those who do watch TSCC are for the most part big fans and are very supportive. All that matters to the television networks is the viewership numbers.
And there are quite a few shows that are not nearly as good but attract a greater number of viewers, and therefore keep airing year after year. It’s the mainstream argument. If a show of diluted quality is more accessible to more people, it will stand a better chance of surviving than a higher quality show which is less accessible. The result is mediocrity for the sake of maximum appeal (maximum profit).

Wherever you are organize fans to protest the cancellation of TSCC at every theatre that is showing T4. Post it on twitter, blogs. Set dates and times. Call newspapers and local TV stations. Wherever T4 is shown tell them you are boycotting the film until TSCC returns to TV! Stand outside the theaters and protest the cancellation of the Series. Make as much noise as you can! Don’t stop shouting until your voice is heard!

My fear is, that if another network decides to add TSCC to their line-up, that it will come at such a lated date that they will have to recast some of the central roles. If they did that, to me it wouldn’t be the same show. Let’s hope if the show does get picked up by another network, it comes early enough so all our favorite faces return as well.
It is most likely to be finished , no more TSCC . We may think that our little contribution to the series would have some impact , though realistically if you see the ratings in comparison with some other very bad shows ; it just cant compete . Plus TSCC is more expensive to make than the usual reality shows which in comparison are fairly cheap to make . Add on the fact that for ordinary people reality shows and the like are easier to watch as they don’t seem to have much or any depth to them at all , with TSCC it may appeal to us because we understand and have followed the storyline , for others it just wont give them what they want ; something mindless to laugh at after a hard days work . If you look at the facts from an unbiased perspective , the writing has been on the wall for quite some time .

Summer and BAG are in Tokyo promoting the show. Its still to early to say that the show is gone for good. I will be happy with a DVD mini series if it comes to it. But its not over yet by a long chalk.

Fox cancelled the show. That does not mean its over. The world is a lot bigger than the USA, and TSCC is GLobal now and an awful lot more TV Networks are out there.

I just wish we new whether WB was even trying to sell the show to another network, or another network was making overtures to them about it. It would be great if it got on another network that treated the show properly. Remember when JAG jumped networks to CBS, the show became a ratings success for them. It could be the same for TSCC. If it does jump networks, I just hope its one I get in my area. Don’t have cable or satellite and can’t afford it either.

It’s gone because American networks don’t take into consideration overseas ratings. The only thing that drives decisions of what shows go and what shows stay is money. They get a faster financial return from the US market than they do from oversea sales of the show. No income is earned for the show overseas, other than its initial sale. In domestic markets there are all those sponsors buying ad time during the show. Not enough ad time sold not enough money. Not enough products purchased that were advertised during the show, means less likely reinvestment from the sponsor. That comes down to viewers. How many people are watching the show? According to one website that posted the ratings for each episode, not good. Why? Because first FOX had it on Mondays against ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” Bad idea. That show cleans up on ratings Monday nights. Fox moves the show to Fridays. Another bad move. Its now up against CBS’s hot ticket, “Ghost Whisperer.” The ratings for TSCC tanked again. Why? because the majority of people were watching the other shows. You don’t put new programs up against established high ratings shows unless it is a mid-season program shown against the other networks repeats. Look at how good the ratings are on ABC’s “Lost” which doesn’t start until January. Great idea, by that time we want to see something different and we love Lost. We love TSCC, but FOX never gave it a real chance to shine. They started it in the fall up against everyone else’s new shows and then kept putting opposite blockbusters. They didn’t pull in the money expected because of it. I just wonder how many people recorded TSCC but watched something else. Do those numbers come into play at all in the American rating system? I doubt it. Otherwise the ratings would be higher than they were. Money. That is all the networks care about. It isn’t quality programming or pleasing certain fans. It is money.
Its Irrelevant whether the US networks are interested in the show or not. Europe and the Far East have more networks and better run as well. Plus its a bigger marketplace and a bigger fanbase already. Forget about Fox WB et al. Admittedly it would be down to Lawyers arguing over who has the rights to the movies, the TSCC show Copywrite etc. That more than anything would put people off. It would ideal if WB made their money from T4, and gave us TSCC again.

I am not giving up. I want TSCC back as well. But I am also a realist. And realistically, based on past performance, I don’t see FOX changing their mind about it. (Of course, because I wrote that last statement probably means they will, I hope.) If we are lucky, then TSCC will get picked up by another network. (I hope by one with station in my area.)
One alternative I suggested was WB produce it for syndication. There are a lot of local stations looking to buy programs to fill their broadcast day. Doesn’t anyone remember ST:TNG and ST:DS9? Two of the most popular Star Trek TV series produced by Paramount for syndication. Each series was on for like 7 years. If I remember correctly they even won awards. So why couldn’t WB do the same with TSCC?

Kevin Reilly is an idiot. Hopefully that will be confirmed when Dollhouse ratings take a nosedive this fall, since Dollhouse has lost its lead in audience. Mr. Reilly, if you want to know where we are, just look over at SciFi — we’ll be watching Stargate Universe and the other Sci Friday shows, and after you cancel Dollhouse, you can try a few other dumb comedies on Friday and after those fail you can return Friday night to the local stations, you loser.

If we really want to see another season of the Sarah Connor Chronicles, we need to show Warner Brothers how much the show is loved. Internet discussions, petitions, and letter writing probably won’t get the job done. T:tSCC is expensive to produce. We’ll need to spend some money.
The plan: You can pre-order the 2nd season of T:tSCC on Amazon.com for around $40 ($60 for Blue Ray). I propose that we pre-order the 2nd season DVD in large quantities. If each fan orders a few copies each (maybe even 4 or 5 each), we”ll get the attention of Warner Brothers.
The goal: 1 million copies sold. If Warner Brothers makes $20 a copy, they’ll have $20 million to help finance a 3rd season.
We must give Warner Brothers a reason to shop the show around to other networks.
This is a good plan. Its only flaw would be the number of copies a fan needed to buy. Given the hard times we are all in, buying 1 copy is more reasonable. In the UK Amazon are charging ÂŁ 35 which = $57.
I have Season 1 and will buy Season 2 when its released here in September.

I agree about the money thing. Giving them money to make T5 is something I wouldnt do. But they will use whatever they make from TSCC 1 & 2 to fund it, and probably for whatever T4 has lost at the box office.

I am in complete agreement with you. These companies completely missed the boat with this program. The more I think about it, I think some fans of the tv show were right, they only used TSCC to promote their new film, which is another sorry sequel to what were excellent films, T1 & T2.
This show could have been another great sci-fi series, right up there with Battlestar Glactica, Star Trek (take your pick), Babylon, to name just a few. They have no idea how good a product it is they have. Fox claimed they heavily promoted the show, that’s crap I never saw one ad for it except when they were rebroadcasting the first season.
WE can continue to bitch and moan, but we must face the facts. The show is gone. We need to move on. Yes I will still be angry, but what is the point of staying angry at a situation I cannot change. I will watch my home recordings and I will write my story. The show is not dead to me. It lives on.

They provide us with entertainment, most of of it worthless crap. This we have to tolerate, until something good comes up to bat. Sarah Connor was the answer, to this TV viewers dream. A program filled with characters, and stories that were good. It fulfilled my desire for drama, that wasn’t crime or dripped in blood.
Sarah Connor your time was short, and we miss having you in our lives. Your adventures will continue, for in our heart they’ll never die. You’ll fight to protect your son, from the enemies of man. But please don’t object, because he loves Cameron.

I know this is usual taboo for this subject, but everyone who is waiting for SCCs2 on disc should just download it. Buying it is just sinking the last bit of money into the company that cancelled the show. Just my 2 cents.
I think the money would go Warner Brothers, not FOX. However, Warner Brothers is equally at stake for not trying to sell the show to another network.
It’s a bit stupid to cancel the show considering the size of the Terminator franchise, the show only enhanced it. Let’s face it the show was a whole lot better than the 3rd film (not that the film was that bad, but the show was better). But if the fan base is large enough then like other Fox shows (eg Family Guy) it might get reinstated on their schedule. THE FANS CAN HOPE.
I don’t count on FOX renewing the series. They’re not known for making smart decisions with regards to TV shows with a strong fan base.
I’m holding out for being picked up by another network. I think it could find a good home on The CW or CBS, just to pull two networks out the hat. I’ve read that SciFi network isn’t interested, but I don’t know whether that’s truth or rumor.

I’ve been re-watching the series again from home recordings and I can’t believe that FOX canceled this show. It is so good and works on so many levels. I’ve almost finished with Season 1 and will be reviewing Season 2 soon. It is still frustrating that FOX could do something like this. But what else would a network do with a show that they never handled or promoted properly. They never did treat it right, kept putting it up against hugely popular shows on other networks and pairing it up with lackluster shows on its last legs or new shows with no following at all.
I live in Poland and i don’t know much about tv policy in USA (only what read in internet or watch in various media) but this isn’t first great tv serial which was canceled before “proper” ending (i mean most threads finished). TSCC was great on so many levels it’s just shame. There is so little books, or films which speaks about feelings between human and AI (John evidently love Cameron), that it made me mad on FOX and i agree wich Seth MacFarlane in his movie “Futurama: Benders big score” what FOX board should do with themeselfs. Maybe then we will wach our favorite tv shows
This just blows. The one of the few interesting shows on TV and it is cancelled. I was loving that they were going to fight in the future. I could not stand watching more than 5 minutes of dollhouse.
I think I will listen to Mike Savage instead of watching the boring crap on TV aimed at a GAY 12 year old. This is not an aversion I mean it is literally directed toward a GAY 12 yr old audience.

Well I definitely wouldn’t go that far in describing TV, but nearly all shows are aimed at some target audience. TSCC was definitely aimed at the Terminator fans, but the show was more than just a rehash of previous movies. It moved the characters and story forward. It gave us a fresh look at these characters. Definitely and superbly better than the run-of-the-mill crap they keep cranking out for the lowest common denominator typical TV viewer. I never really cared for DollHouse. It had an interesting premise, but how can you care about a character who is somebody different in every show. A program built around a gimmick doesn’t deserve a second chance, but a solid decent drama like TSCC gets shafted. Now we face another season of crappy reality shows, yet another run of crime and medical dramas, and more silly or stupid comedies or animated shows that need tossing.
Thanks FOX, you really know how to deliver the goods don’t you.

TSCC has such great potential for being a great series. FOX just didn’t get behind it. They never put it on a night where it could have drawn in more viewers, always putting it up against big hits on other networks. They should have paired it up with Fringe or 24, or started it as a mid-season show when everyone else is showing repeats.
Right now it seems that Warner Bros. isn’t too keen on TSCC either. They seem more interested in the films. The only one right now who seems interested in keeping the series going is James Middleton.
If I had the financial means I’d buy the series on DVD. Hell I’d buy as many as I could get my hands on and give them as gifts.
I’m still upset with the cancellation of the series. It was the best show on TV. I’ve seen lots of TV shows and I’ve never felt about any of them the way I feel about TSCC. It had the best characters in some of the most interesting stories. I miss it. Thank GOD for home recordings and the internet. I get to watch them again and again.

You see what you did FOX? You totally screwed up. There are people finding the series after they’ve seen the movie. I knew they would. I told you time and time again you should have tied in promotion of the TV series with the new movie.
You are a bunch of @$$holes. People are now finding the series after seeing the movie. Just think of the ratings it could have garnered this summer. People watch the movie and then say, “Hey lets go see some more Terminator on FOX.” Now thanks to you, FOX executives, you lost out on more exposure and more revenue from what was the best series on network TV.
How many more people will discover the show too late? And why, because you never promoted it. Don’t lie to us. I never saw one ad on TV in newspaper or even the show covered on entertainment news programs. You could have use the movie to promote the show. You knew it was coming out this summer. You could of held the start of the series for a couple of months so it was still on when the movie came out.
It could have been one of the greatest ad campaigns ever and during May, sweeps month. But NOOOO! you’ve got to wrap the show up one month early before the movie even comes out, before May sweeps even begins. YOU screwed it up, the blame for low viewing figures rest in your hands only.

FOX seriously through away a prime marketing oportunity…..I became a fan of TSCC after seeing the first three movies (sad that I hadn’t before) in preparation for the 4th. It would have been easy to pick up new fans from the new movie as well as attracting fans from the first three. I hope that someone can get their act together to atleast give us a conclusion to the series.

I understand you so well Big Trev Uk. Every time I think I’ve finally got used to the cancellation news I read something online that makes me boiling mad again. Just read my previous post above.
At sometime, the producers are going to have to get smart about this and produce either a direct-to-dvd feature or else a series of small movies to wrap up the series. That is the only smart thing to do. That is the best way to appease the fans, provided the production is smart, of good quality and not something slapped together quickly, and includes the original cast.
Will we get a season3? Will we get anything to wrap up the TV series? I don’t know. I truly hope we do.
In the meantime, myself and several others are creating our own Season 3 stories. They can be found on fanfiction.net or on terminatorwiki.fox.com. I suggest if you feel the need for Season 3, you try reading some of the stories created by fans. My own is called Reunion. Another good one is Born to Fight by River2027. There are many more.

I’d buy a third season DVD right now sight unseen. My sister just watched it on DVD instead of TV. A lot of people watched it after the fact or online since it was moved to Friday. Fox didn’t seem to know what to do with it. They didn’t aim ads at a lot of people that would have liked it if they knew it wasn’t only hot robots and explosions. I am also very disappointed in FOX & WB, they finally get a show that is incredible and of course they cancel it. There was so much they could have done with the show. The thing that killed the ratings was moving it to Friday’s what were they thinking! No wonder FOX is the butt of all their crediable show’s (Simpson’s) jokes. If they were smart they would have moved it to Thursday nights. That seems to be the best rating night. Who watches TV on a Friday night? I had to tape most of the episodes just so I could watch them. I hope FOX & WB read this comment. We want TSCC back on the air! Thursday’s preferably.
I agree with you Mike. They knew that TSCC wouldn’t do well on Monday nights or Friday nights. They were up against huge competition those nights on the other networks. Thursday night would have been excellent. I’m tired of the programs on at 8 pm Thursday nights. I would have looked forward to something new and fresh, THAT ISN’T ANOTHER D@MN REALITY SHOW! I hate those things.
I’ve slowly come to the conclusion, the show was deliberately handicapped. WB only wanted to pull in the hardcore Terminator fans just to build an audience for T4. FOX went along as they didn’t want a show in which they didn’t have a vested interest. The actions of WB would have made sense if the movie built off the TV series, but it builds off T3 and has no connection at all with TSCC, which is far superior as a sequel.
If they truly wanted to bring in the movie fans, WB should have re-released the first three Terminator films over the previous six months to remind the public of the films history.
I am happy we got the 31 episodes of TSCC. It is a great program. The best acting I’ve ever seen. Lena Headey as Sarah Connor was fantastic. She set a new bar for any other actresses who may take on that role. None will be as good. The writers gave us some of the most interesting and compelling stories. They weren’t afraid to take risks. I applaud their tremendous talents.
am so sad, fox please continue wiht the exelent job of terminator tscc if you dont do it i will hate fox studios and all the connected wiht fox studios a i will never see any channel of fox like foxlife, fx or national geo.

-The Lena Headey ‘head-bob’.
-The ‘I wanna say something but I’m just gonna bite my lip instead’ head-bob.
-The ‘I’m gonna frustrate the hell out of the audience by not saying anything and keeping it all inside’ head-bob.
For me every episode was ‘Summer’ time.

I’m pretty sure Lena Headey didn’t kill the show. Lay blame where blame is due and that is with Fox and the WB. The show had potential they cancelled it…end of story. I would’ve at the very least liked to see one more season. Especially after the season finally. But a series actually ending with some kind of closer…some kind of finality is a rarity any more. I mean who cares what us fans think and whether we are satisfied with “said” show *sarcasm intended*.

You said it Cyn. TSCC deserves at least one more season to wrap up all the loose threads and give it the ending it deserves. WB and FOX screwed us over. They have the modern approach to TV shows that if it isn’t an instant hit, kill it. I’m sure we only got the second season because the writers strike killed the first. For that I am grateful. If they gave it one more season, I’m certain they would have picked up a lot of new viewers who saw the film. Oh well, if dreams were dollars, we would all be millionaires.

If cancelled means cancelled, I guess two can play that game. I am cancelling my viewing of Fox. I was an avid 24 fan. No more. I can live without it. American Idol? Bye-bye. Everything else is pretty much animation and Cops, so who cares? Getting picked up by another network would be nice, but it doesnt look like it’s going to happen. A two-hour special would be nice, to give closure to the series. Or even an annual made-for-tv movie. Lots of possibilites in the plotlines left. And no, I don’t want to go to some website where amateur teen writers post their versions of the storyline. I’m sure it’s great fun, but I want the real deal. BTW, Fox execs don’t read emails; they live in a vacuum.
I feel much the same as you. I can live without FOX. TSCC was the only show I watched regularly on it. Nothing else on FOX really held my attention, but then so little on TV does anymore. WB is not interested in producing the TV series, at least that’s the word on the internet. Halcyon owns the rights to the Terminator franchise (so the internet says), so it would be up to them to find another producer for the TV series, unless in the crazy world of Hollywood, WB owns the rights to the TV series. Would I like a made for TV movie? Yes I would. A series of annual movies, even better. A direct-to-dvd season or movie, you bet. I want the real deal too. I’d throw my story in the trash bin tomorrow if TSCC had a resurgence. I don’t think its going to happen. I want it to come back, but as I said before “if dreams were dollars, we would all be millionaires.” I want it back. I’ve written emails, signed petitions, done what I could.
Right now, for a lot of us fans, the only means for getting a third season is to write one ourselves. I make no claim to be a professional writer. I am an amateur writer. I am not some teenager writing some juvenile piece of literature for my own peers. I am 40 years old. I have read numerous pieces of fiction. I know the kind of stories I like. Complex stories with good character development, a slow build to a climax midway, lots of little surprises and plot twists, a huge end of story climax, followed by a gentle let down to the ultimate end.
I can’t speak for all amateur writers of fanfiction for TSCC, but I can say this. I found TSCC inspiring. The writing and the acting on the show were all top notch. All of those involved deserve a round of applause. If it wasn’t for that program, and encouragement from AndyK, I never would have considered writing. My only goal is to try and stay as true as possible to the standards set by the show.
I think you may just find a fanfiction story that will meet your desires for a third season. There are plenty out there.
Well said. Unfortunately, tv execs aren’t the brightest bulbs in the lamp or the sharpest tools in the shed. If it doesn’t have a dollar sign in front, they aren’t interested. Too bad the viewers have been left with mindless dribble instead of a quality show that actually required thought. Friday night is the death-zone of time slots, always has been, and I think all the networks move shows to Friday on purpose to “justify” cancellation due to poor ratings when they can’t find any other reason to can them.
Cable costs a fortune and you get 150 channels of nothingness. I lived to watch TSCC and Lost. One has been canceled and the other is wrapping up. Reality shows and talent contests are crap to put it nicely. Guess I’ll be spending more time in the library or with a DVD or just watching the garden grow.
Like others, where I’d love to see the threads wrapped up nicely in a made-for-tv-movie or something straight to DVD, I loathe the idea of putting any more money in the pockets of WB or FOX. If their execs can’t do a better job than this, they should be persuaded to find mindless employment elsewhere….
I’d be happier if they suffocated in a vacuum. They could at least wrap up the last episode with a two hour movie to tie up any loose ends. Fox network sucks, anything decent or well written usually ends up cancelled after one season. I guess we were lucky to get season two of T:TSSC. I won’t be watching Fox anymore either.
The blame doesn’t fall completely on FOX, but they do deserve the fair share. Apparently WB is no longer interested in producing the TV series. Since Halcyon owns the rights to Terminator, and if you want the TSCC back either in another season or a movie to wrap things up, write to Halcyon or Warner Brothers. If FOX really wanted to continue showing the series, I’m certain WB would have continued producing it. But FOX has this bad reputation of not backing shows from which they cannot obtain profit after their closure or despite a shows strong fan base. There are still people finding this show around the world and only now discovering that it has been canceled. Dumb move on FOX and Warner’s part. They just don’t get it. In this day of quick hit or pull the plug fast, they just don’t give a show a chance to find its audience. What worked for TSCC was that it worked on so many different levels. It was more than sci-fi, it had action, adventure, drama, dynamic characters and relationships. What little advertising I saw always seemed to push it being Terminator, when it was more than that.
Im so sad I loved that show.
Why can the U.S. be more like the Brits when it comes to TV. The Brits have had Dr. Who in production for 11 years I think. They don’t give up on a program just because the ratings aren’t through the roof. As long as there are fans still wanting the show, they keep it going. I bet TSCC would still be going strong if it was produce in Britain. I’m really going to miss TSCC.
Joss Whedon (Creator of Doll house and the legendary FireFly) has said in an interview if he had a say in the matter he would save T:TSCC. Whether he was just being humble because his own show got saved (although with massive budget cuts) or because he is a fan of the genre (He also likes Battlestar Galactica) the point is he has said these things publicly.
I really would hope the show comes back when people are ready for quality television.
Hi. Fox. Please reconsider your decision. I know it’s all business but don’t you think you have responsibilities to your viewers also? You cannot cancel a series like this. You have to end with a high note. End the series with respect, respect that you should give to the fans who have watched TSCC religiously. I am from the Philippines and really I have to admit the show caught my attention. The season 2 finale was great! Please…. please…. please…. reconsider. I will even help promoting the show to my many friends… Please.. exaggerated? Nope, I’am not! There must be a follow up season that will really end the series properly. Thanks.. Note: don’t change the cast…
I had hoped Fox would keep TSCC going, but they didn’t. Every show that has depth, intrigue, and educational action doesn’t make it(Veronica Mars, Threshold, and TSCC) So thanks a lot for ruining television for people who use their heads, and smothering it with reality shows.
