McG Says He’s Directing T5 and T6

McG says he’s directing “Terminator 5″ and “6″. Or at least, he says he is. IGN reports: During the live commentary for the movie over the weekend (that was available to those how had bought the film on Blu-ray) he said that - no matter which studio inherits the series...

TWO New Terminator Salvation Trailers!

So here it is, guys, the brand spanking new “Terminator Salvation” that was hinted at last week when Entertainment Weekly (of all places) showed us a glimpse of it. The Powers That Be had been promising this all week last week, but we still haven’t seen the U.S. debut yet. Luckily the Japanese have seen it already, and here’s a video of it. It’s a pretty decent copy of the trailer, and it shows a heck of a lot more of the storyline, as well as all the main characters — Christian Bale as John Connor, Sam Worthington as Marcus, Moon Bloodgood as pilot Blair Williams, rapper Common as Barnes, and Bryce Dallas Howard as a pregnant Kate Connor (aka Kate Brewster).

Update: Finally! The U.S. version of the new trailer has arrived online. You can watch it now in glorious high-def over at Apple.com, or just take a look at an equally good looking version below. The beginning is different from the Japanese version, and there are some new footages to boot. Check them both out below.

wow, this trailer is better than the first. now I’m watching more than I expected

Keep Going!

wow can’t wait for this to come out alot has changed from what they did it looks like

Thats a pretty good trailer =)
Though i wonder why they have changed the original outcome of the war, Wasn’t it supposed to be a desolate wasteland after the Nuclear Attack?

things must of changed somehow with all the timeline chanages they have done

Looks decent. I have my reservations but at least it should be a fun action movie. Hopefully it will be more. We’ll see.

OMG ROLL ON THIS MOVIE I SERIOUSLY CANT WAIT FOR IT NOW MCG MATE U HAVE PULLED IT OFF AND KEPT THE GENRE ALIVE WOW!!!! HOPE THE FILM IS AS GD AS THAT TRAILER

i think as far as the desolate wasteland goes, those scenes are in L.A., while this movie takes places in the desert. only so much money for the sets!

I’m taking my all previous bad comments about the movie, that thing is fantastic! it’s awful that we have to wait for months to see it all…

Terminator Salvation looks like a top-drawer action film - I can’t wait. Remember it’s a totally different ballgame to TSCC, on an account of time and money spent on one 90 minute feature film versus the resources which go into each episode of the weekly TV show. Having said that just because it’s got amazing affects doesn’t mean it won’t be dumb, and as far as script, plot, dialogue and acting, it has stiff competition from many TSCC episodes.

what is the figure in the dark with the red eyes n kind of clothes on it ???

i think it’s a human, but they confused us with some creepy sound effects in purpose.

Looks like the Nemesis from RE2 only that is a terminator…duno maybe it`s a kinda uber terminator….I wanna have terminator motorcycle xD!

The trailer does look good i must admit , but its for promoting the movie so really we cant take much from that . Though i do fear that it will be just an all out Hollywood big budget movie that lacks in depth dialogue and narrative quality . I to was waiting for the dark desolate war that was the post judgment day apocalyptic chaos plagued landscape littered with charred corpses and bone fragments .
A convenient location to place the movie in would be a desert that gives the narrative an excuse for not having to put much effort into littering the vast surrounds with corpses and absolute annihilation , as deserts are already devoid of life . Though i assume even a deserts landscape would be significantly altered after a nuclear warhead/s terror were to be unleashed onto it.
I’m assuming the perfect set for this post apocalyptic chaos would not have been within their budget or time frame whilst expecting to gain huge returns based on the previous success of the terminator franchise .A perfect example of a production company ‘ milking ‘ a project , i can only assume that the dialogue & plot line will also follow suite in that it may well be washed out/incorrect or non existent whilst trying their best to cover this as true hollywood only knows how of fancy explosions etcetera .
This is what continues to fustrate me in modern day film productions in that movie makers ,producers , actors and all the like quickly parcel up some of the movies we only dream about ( they may actually count on that fact also ) and turn a great narrative and reduce it to nothing all the while becominging significantly richer , furthermore we are left to do nothing but squabble over why it always turns out this way . While having to listen to the constant dribble that the producers and the like convey to us in such an optimistic manner ( which is just another form of promoting their upcoming film ) .
. What about the exclusion of arnie in this film ? why everyone wants arnie to be in this film is beyond me , he is old and overweight .Get him back in his youthful T2 body and cunning guile yeh sure im all go for that scenario , but just as life is things change and usually for the worse . T3 was a great example of what hollywood can do to great narratives even with the main character is involved , i think i have made my point .
I hope i havent offended anyone with my comments , i too hope this movie is a great success though i have my serious doubts as explained previously .

Kind Regards Antonio …

Wow love the trailers. John looks like such a badass and I would have it no other way. I assume the girl was Kate Brewster. I think I even saw Kyle Reese. Wow I almost thought that was Micheal Bein. Well if thes trailers are any indication this movie will be a huge improvement over T3. Summer 2008 can’t come fast enough.

Summer 2008 is already here my friend , it officially begun here in western australia approximately 12 days 7 hours & 8 mins or 295 hours & 8 mins ago . Happy Summer !

Antonio …

here is just begin the winter lol… Wish i be in down under… I hate winter… I love summer! ( you know which summer xD )!!!

did anyone notice the dirt bike flyin past the moon or something

it really reminded me off ET

this is gonna rock!

what is Bale’s exact words on new trailer? sounds sort of “what the hell has sam been busy”

he says “the devils hands have been busy”

Random thoughts:

Never has a movie had so much of an effect on me as did Terminator - good ol’ impressionable teen years! Arnold was fantastic in the first and second installments but failed in third - T3 should just not be counted as part of this series!

Nonetheless, T1 and T2 are what they are just because Arnold’s physique and crooked accent precisely fit the terminator character - a perfect fit. Then, again, it was James Cameron’s basic concept and impeccable transformation in the movie - the look and feel of characters and environments, enhanced by Brad Fiedel’s sound scores - that made what we all loved. And I think it was the absence of these elements in the third one that led to our dismissal of it as yet another mundane production feeding off of past’s success.

Another thing I enjoyed a great deal was Terminator: Future Shock - the first person shooter game by Bethesda - a very nice rendition of the post apocalyptic world. The new game seems to hold good material to it, being set two years before this movie - let’s see how it comes along.

I wonder whether the original terminator score would return to this installment - it should else it might not feel complete - but that’s just me.

With or without Arnold makes little difference now - that he cannot be brought back in his 80’s / 90’s glory, the movie is better off without him. Bale looks promising as Connor - unlike Nick Stahl who was a complete opposite of what we grew up thinking of early-twenties Connor to be like: strong in mind and heart with plenty of stuff leaders are made of!

Love terminator still and looking forward to seeing a good, good rendition of it this time - fingers crossed!
