It’s hard to read into the comments by actor Nick Stahl, who played a 20-something John Connor in T3: Rise of the Machines, because he seems to be all over the place. In an interview with MTV, which caught up to Nick at the Sundance festival where the actor was showing a couple of indie films, Nick seems to hedge his bets — he wanted to do T4, he didn’t, maybe he did, etc. But there is one thing Nick was clear about — he has never seen The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and he ain’t never gonna see it. Says Nick, “I’m not a big TV guy.”
More:
“I don’t care really, to be honest,” admitted the 28-year-old actor, at Sundance recently to promote “Sleepwalking” and “Quid Pro Quo,” two upcoming indies with decidedly smaller budgets than “Rise of the Machines.” “I don’t have much interest.”
In regards to the soon-to-shoot “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins,” Stahl said he had been told some time ago that his considerable talents would not be required for the fourth movie, although he is scratching his head over rumors that Bale will be 30-years-old in the flick.
“They said it would be a 50-year-old man, but I guess they reduced the age a little bit,” Stahl said of how the franchise producers had explained the plot to him. “That’s what they told me very early on [in development of the ‘Salvation’ script]. That it was gonna take place further in the future, and I probably wouldn’t be on.”
I still can’t read into what he’s saying up there. Did he want to be in T4, or didn’t he? I would have loved to see him come back in T4, but apparently I’m the only one.
I certainly hope that Nick Stahl is NOT starring in T4, he gets on my nerves totally anoying. A shame of T3.
I actually like Stahl in T3. I think he brought plenty to the (now older) role. The dynamic between him and Kate Brewster was definitely something that got me interested, but it was how the characters were handled at the end of the movie that really sealed the deal for me.
STAHL IS SO JOHN CONNOR!!!
He was like the perfect actor for T3
when my friends were talking about it before i saw it i pictured John looking just like Nick Stahl
I CAN BELIVE HE ISNT DOIN T4
NO!!!!!!!!
COME ON NICK FOR ALL YOUR FANS !!!!
Hey read my comments on previous pages about T4, I think. Nick Stahl wasn’t the problem! It was a crappy script that was way too short. Anybody who thinks he was a whiner or annoying, think about it. How would you approach you day to day knowing that you can’t be found or you’ll be killed and that everything you do won’t matter because mankind will be wiped out; THEN you get to do something worthwhile. All the crap you grew up with, thought you resolved, is still gonna happen anyway. T2 john seemed ‘normal’ brat because he believed his mom to be a pyscho, he became proactive because at his age he thought they were stopping it from happening. T3 John is now alone, bitter, angry and withdrawn, because HE HAS TO BE!, If it doesn’t happen, good, if it does, bad but he can’t DO anything with his life, because if it is suppose to happen he can’t be found by terminators. So, no real job, house, car, ANYTHING! OFF THE GRID. Watch it again people. It wasn’t Nick Stahl, it was a poor script and too short a movie. Cath. Brewster - her story arc should have mirrored Sarah’s from T1 nearly the same.
I am a huge fan of the original cast I wish that the cast from T3 came back for T4 but I know now that Christian Bale is John Connor now he does not fit the role of John at all he sucks as an actor to me and he is only good at batman nothing else in other movies he sucked. I want to see Arnold Clair and Nick Again but I am not going to get that. maybe Arnold though he does not like where the movie is going without him. So he might do a cameo or his real self.
OMG, anyone who thinks nick stahl is a remotely decent actor should be shot, he completely ruins T3 with his lack of acting ability and downgrades the whole film because of it. Christian Bale as connor is a stroke of genius though and he will most likely carry the film if the story or action is lacking. Mark my words T4 restore the greatness of the franchise.
gagan, christian bale is one of the worst actors i have EVER seen. and this next bit is directed towards gagan and gerry, nick stahl was NOT the problem with T3, the problem with T3 was the director. notice they changed the director from T1 and T2, same director for T1 and T2, T1 was great, T2 was freakin amazing. T3. SUCKED why? not cause of stahl. cause they changed director. get ur head around the facts b4 commenting ffs.
According to Kai, If T3 was a fail, is not by Stahl’s fault or Mostow and crew wasn’t able to do something like T and T2. was ‘coz James Cameron left the mark too higher and every movie related with them after T2, seems sucked.
we expected this movie continues the time line after T3. McG doesn’t. I said in earlier comments “McG, this is not Charlie’s angels franchise. PLS DON’T SCREW IT UP!” i hope he read my comments, and this movie recover the greatness of the franchise and keep the legend alive
yes this is my point though. if T3 was by cameron. it WOULD have surpassed T2 and T1. cameron was an amazing director. as T4 is NOT going to be done by cameron once again. its going to still be worse than T2. with T3 its not just the fact it was worse than the originals. its the fact it was unbearably awful.
Nick Stahl was actually John Conner. I mean, really, Christian Bale is just the popular wooden actor for the moment. Stahl was actually the same guy as Edward Furlong. Bale as John Conner is crap. John Conner is supposed to be all bohemian, and half gay. He’s not some corporate square like Bale.
UGH, I don’t know if I can bear to hear Christian Bale lisp his lines all the way through T4, thought otherwise I can’t wait to see it.
Why was T:SCC cancelled? If it’s just numbers, why will T4 work? I hope it’s not for lack of new plots, because I can propose a few to prime the pump. Why isn’t a T:SCC movie being prepared? Or maybe it is?
