McG Says He’s Directing T5 and T6

McG says he’s directing “Terminator 5″ and “6″. Or at least, he says he is. IGN reports: During the live commentary for the movie over the weekend (that was available to those how had bought the film on Blu-ray) he said that - no matter which studio inherits the series...

Robert Patrick in Terminator 5?

In a recent interview, “Terminator Salvation” director McG ponders what he might want to do in a fifth “Terminator” movie should one get made. According to McG himself, he sure would like to get Robert Patrick aka the T-1000, the nearly unstoppable liquid metal killing machine from “T2 in the fifth installment, back into the franchise. But not as a younger version of himself, but as he currently looks now. How would that work? Read on.

McG told Fearnet, via Joblo.com, this:

I like the idea in a prospective next picture that you meet Robert Patrick the way he looks today, and he’s a scientist that’s working on improving cell replication so we can stay healthier and we can cure juvenile diabetes and all these things that once again sound like good ideas — and once again live as an idealized expression of ourselves. So imagine seeing a sixty-year-old Robert Patrick and knowing, ‘Holy shit! That’s gonna be the T-1000 – who comes back perfect, lean and the whole thing.’ I haven’t concluded that, but Robert and I had dinner the other night and talked about it.

That sounds like a plan to me! Now all they have to do is bring back Linda Hamilton, Arnold, and Edward Furlong, and the band’s back together again! Okay, maybe not the Furlong kid…

That sounds very cool. It looks like McG is making an effort to have a continuum between the first two movies and these later ones.

I wonder if he has also talked to Summer Glau. I am not a fanboy or anything, but it would only make sense to bring her in the movies. Anyway, you can’t ignore the female terminator thing. You just gotta have one in there somewhere and i hope it’s Summer’s Cameron.

As much as I would love that, their not going to get Summer in any of the movies for the same reason they didn’t want arnold to cameo in the tv series. they want to distance themselves enough from enough other so that we’re not trying to compare them too much.

Anyway, this sounds cool, I have to question though why skynet would want to age any of the terminator’s human forms. what purpose could it possibly serve?

According with you guys, sounds great idea…

I just hope it doesn’t looked too forced. That could be a disaster

It already has been stated the show is not related to T3 and any other upcoming movies from the terminator franchise.

The show continues from T2 and thats that. Summer Glau aka Cameron is not related in any way.

Richard Patrick’s comeback is a nice idea, afterall Arnold did it thrice, looking successively older, yet we totally bought the concept. The audience will buy an older looking Patrick, and by the way he still terrifies me, even when he appears in other films, I believe that a return in T5 will certainly leave me on the edge of my seat…!

i hope to God they continue up to T5 and if they brought back the guy who playes t- 2000 that would be sweeeeet!!! he also kicked ass big time in X files, only he could fill moulders shoes..

even though it was only one season… by the way… for the guy who said the show is not related to T3? Your speaking too soon, do not say the two are not going to be connected till we see an end to Sarah Connor Chronicles…

Am i missing something?? Why would they bring him back? That wasn’t the true form of the t-1000… That was the cop that went to see what the heck was going on… It has been awhile since i’ve wacthed the moive but i’m SURE that he took the body form of the cop. You never saw the form of the t-1000 cuz when it showed up it took the cops form…..

smart move I think that would rock if the T-1000 made an anchor that will rule 2011

He is a general, not a T-1000 anymore, spoilered already, John Connor will come to the past and will find him, nonsenses of McG.

T-1000 looked originally like Robert Patrick - brought back from the future, naked, he smuggled on the back of the cop, killed him and took his uniform, but not the face. It was Patrick’s face.
