Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles returns tonight with the fourteenth episode of Season 2, titled “The Good Wound”. We pick up where last year left off, with Sarah in the aftermath of a gunshot wound, Riley seemingly near death in the Connor’s bathroom, and what exactly is up with all the UFO flying around California? Plus, what is Jesse’s deal, and what exactly is her real mission back in the past? And oh yeah, lest we forget, a familiar face shows up for a chat with Sarah Connor. This is your Open Discussion Thread for TSCC Episode 2.14, “The Good Wound”.
worst advertising ever for the return of the show.
They need to outsource this or fire the firm they outsourced it to.
I mean it’s THAT fracking bad. Podcasting sites that are like optical illusions, poor choice of material for the podcasts, no youtube presence. the WORST official site I’ve seen in the last 5 years. No spoilers - no use of material for fanedits. bad promos - they’ve managed to make every wrong choice possible, it seems.
I wonder if fox is responsible for this marketing mess. It’s the biggest threat to the show at the moment.
Just saw the episode. It was quite good. So much better than the last 3-4 episodes they aired back in 2008. The pacing was the best part for me. Events happened at just the right speed and the plot had time to develop nicely, and the producers finished the episode off in a good way, hinting at some interesting bits to come. Also, I gotta say, good acting from Jonathan Jackson. Overall, the episode was pretty awesome, now I’m looking forward to next Friday.
It looks like Riley might be a bit more devious than I had thought. Is she really clever enough to plan to win over John by playing on his guilt about the earlier suicide at their school? Or was her remark to Cameron just an attempt to get herself off the hood for the bungled suicide attempt? I’m also beginning to wonder if Riley doesn’t have a thing for her co-conspirator? “Can I stay with you?…Just for an hour?” Both Derek and Cameron are fed up with John’s infatuation for a girl who seems to have nothing to offer other than her own pathetic need for help. Cameron in particular has once again refused to obey an order from John when he wanted to search the hospital grounds for Riley. They Kyle Reese mystery is solved; he’s obviously a phantom of Sarah’s feverish imagination. Whether he shows up again in the role of a cooler if imaginary head giving Sarah advice is still an open question. And once again we are reminded of the cold-blooded and singleminded nature of Sarah’s mission. She used a good Samaritan doctor, playing on her sympathy for the injured and her own background of having an abusive male to get what she wanted. When the doctor asks if anything-anything at all-that Sarah has told her is true, her matter-of-fact reply is: “I got shot.” Could this be a foreshadowing of what Riley can expect from the one person she trusts? One final comment: I was glad to see the earlier high school suicide brought back into the plot. It seemed after who knows how many episodes that the writers had simply forgot about it. It’s important if it’s part of Riley’s strategy, but also because it created a rift between John and Cameron.
unafortunately, i’can’t saw the chapter..
Lena was fantastic in this episode! Props to her. I love her as Sarah.
Kyle reciting lines from T1 and dressed in the same Nike sneakers was awesome.
did u guys see the ratings for the episode? barley 3.5 million. the show is over
This was an awesome episode. Props to Lena Headey especially. For those people who want to say it’s over, I say it’s just the beginning. Friday the 13th was not only the day before valetine’s day, there was also a big movie released. I expect to see the numbers go up after this. The TREND in viewership is important, no simply this single data point. I wish people wouldn’t pretend to KNOW that the show is doomed. Give me a break from your doomsday forecasts. Give the show a chance to find an audience over the next 2 months.
Awesome episode - a great return for 2009. Loved the continueous referenes to T1 and T2; especially the reference to the T-1000 stabbing Sarah through the shoulder and Kyle’s reaction to that (with detail to the fact that since he was dead at the time he wouldn’t have known). I love and am intrigued over the intentions of Weaver - did she kill all those people because they were sloppy with the unsecured communiation, or for some other reason? My only gripe is the continual under-use of Cameron.
great episode first good one sice they started having the Terminator of the week bull crapt Kyle Reese wa great Josh Friedmen had me worried that they where going to have the big reserrection crap Sarah imagining Kyle that was well done Johathan Jackson did a great job playing Kyle was great sure he is not Micheal Behn but so what he is still grat as Kyle Reese now I wonder how that guy in Terminator Salvation will top that we will see Lena Heady was great too I was already sold on her as Sarah all this did was renforced that for me my favorite part by par was Catherine Weaver going to the warhose killing everybody and then blowing the place up great stuff good effects pretty extreme for a tv show I love it grat action scene Josh now when does she fight Cameron Sareh finally came clean with Derek about Kyle and I was suprised he did not really coment maybe it is beacuse he has known for a while but still I would think he would react more anyway we really need to get the Jesse Reily plot moving faster it is really moving to slowly John needs to find out the truth about Reily and the sooner the better beacuse it really is the weak point right now and Jesse is starting to get irritating Derek should have blown her head off instead of telling her about the truth about John get rid of her Derek she is nothing but trouble my only other problem is Cameron did next to nothing in the episode I would give this 4 of 5 stars great job Josh keep it up
Awful casting for Kyle Reese. A Jason Priestly wannabe in a trenchcoat. Terrible. I enjoyed the episode overall, but couldn’t get past this casting choice.
The ratings, and the move to a Friday night time slot — a traditional graveyard for TV shows — has me worried about the long term viability of this show.
ahanda başladı….
Great episode, as were all of the recent episodes. I’m enjoying this show very nearly as much as the reimagined Galactica. As usual, there was some great acting from Lena, Richard and Garret. I’ve warmed to John Jackson as Kyle although I do still miss Michael Biehn. On the plus side of that I suppose it just goes to highlight, for me, what an excellent piece of casting it was to have Lena Heady as Sarah. Linda Hamilton was brilliant in T2 and I must admit I was skeptical that anyone could replace her, but Lena dispelled any doubts after about the first five minutes of the pilot episode.
Anyway, I’m not going to review the whole episode here, but well done to all involved.
That said, I do have one gripe: what’s with all the religious dogma? I just about came to terms with all that in Galactica, mainly due to the fact that the writers have done some interesting things with the theological issues that they raised. However, and much as I love Ellison as a character, the idea of teaching Christian morality to John Henry really jars with me. What about several thousand years of ethical philosophy which I suggest would make a lot more sense to a creature of logic like JH than “You have to be good to people because the big invisible man in the sky says so”? Well good luck with that, as Ellen said to Brother Cavill.
What you dismiss as “dogma” I think is the most compelling plot element of the whole Terminator franchise! The interaction between Ellison (who we know to be a devout Christian) and John Henry is demonstrative of the entire basis that drives this story. In particular, I think the writing in this episode was some of the best thus far…when John Henry asked why God did not put more ball joints in humans. Ellison knows there is no good answer for this question.
Furthermore, the parallel between Sarah/John and Catherine/John Henry is becoming very important…and the religious/moral development of John Henry is essential to this plot line.
I find it interesting that a fan of the show could dismiss this plot element when without it, there really is no plot.
great show lena is top notch, but whats going on with cameron, i know that the story has to flow and she cannot be in every scene but we see less and less every week
by the way guys, was there supposed to be a blog?????????????????????
Does anyone know what happend to one of John’s classmates shown in several episodes during Season 1? A girl in one of John’s classes was always acting depressed. When John would try and talk to her she would clam up and walk away. It was implied that she was having trouble with her parents. As far as I know it hasn’t been mentioned this season. It wasn’t the girl that killed herself but another one.
honestly, i watched half of this and turned it off. too slow and why is she seeing Kyle? what is going on here? none of this advanced the main plot line. i’m a big fan and im’ giving this episode another shot in a minute….i hope they can pick things up before the season finale and try to get this renewed for a third season.
Did anyone notice that the wound she recieved from the T-1000 was on left shoulder? In T2 she was stabbed in her right shoulder. Just wondering if anyone else caught that!
